The Shore Sirens have officially wrapped up the first official season as a not-for-profit organization! Our season end party at North Point Brewing had a fantastic turnout with over 30 registrants. Two inaugural season end awards were presented to winners Izzy Wong (Shore Sirens Race Teammate of 2024) and Betty Birrell (The Betty Award).
We would like to thank Adidas /5.10 for sponsoring the party and Tandem Photography and Sam from Steed Cycles for providing raffle prizes & photography.
Thank you to all who supported us throughout this first official “season”, as it could not have happened without our many volunteers, sponsors, and members. We use “season” in quotation marks, as the season truly never ends on the North Shore, and we are continuing some really fun events over the next few months.

Mentorship Program
"I loved this program and can't wait for next year!"
This year’s mentorship program was a huge success! We had a whopping 54 participants, 22 of which were mentors. Participants were able to hone in on their skills and make lifelong friends in the process. We’re already brainstorming how we can improve the program for next year thanks to the survey responses, but overall had a ton of great feedback. We thank everyone for participating in the program this year and hope you can join next season. Huge shoutout to the mentees who volunteered their time to make the program a success. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Group Rides
Our regular weekly group rides are now done for the season, and will resume again in the Spring. Thanks to all the volunteer Group Ride Leads and Sweeps that gave their time and energy to make our group ride season a success! We look forwarding to seeing you all on the trails again soon.
Keep an eye out for special ride events in our off-season, such as the nighttime Halloween ride we just hosted on October 29.
Race Team
The Shore Sirens Race Team wrapped up their inaugural season in September. Several race team members participated in the Revelstoke Women’s Enduro on September 6th, with Jessie Curell taking home an impressive 5th place finish out of 28 racers in the Masters 40+ category. Thank you to all the race team members, Adidas Five Ten, and Steed Cycles for their support and participation this season. We could not have done it without you and see you all again in late Spring for the 2025 race season!

Trail Building

This past year, Shore Sirens adopted Seventh Secret with Adidas/Terrex via the NSMBA’s TAP program. Sirens worked on many trails over the winter and spring, such as Richard Juryn, Seventh Secret, Bottletop, and the Water Towers Access Trail. We held a trail maintenance workshop to learn more about trail building techniques, and we look forward to many more trail days in the Fall and Winter. It feels incredibly meaningful to get down and dirty on our special trails!

Upcoming trail days include November 9th on Seventh Secret (with Adidas/Terrex) and November 10th on Lower Espresso (with Steed). There’s still room on November 10th for more diggers – so sign up! RSVP to reserve your spot through the Shore Sirens website.
NEW! Beyond the Bike Series

This Fall we started a series of non-bike related workshops that center around women+ empowerment, confidence, and connection off the trails.
The first Beyond the Bike workshop on October 26 focused on Financial Literacy, was presented by Julia Chung, CFP, CLU, FEA, TEP (Spring Planning) and Hannah McVean, CFP, CIM (Objective Financial). A big shout-out to Siren Isabelle Deguise for organizing such an awesome first event in our series.
The next Beyond the Bike series workshop is all about moving and adapting to change in our lives more easily. Titled “Falling Through Change” , Dagmar Relling will be hosting our next workshop November 12 from 6-8:30pm, held at Liv/Giant headquarters. Find more info about the event and buy tickets on our website.
Are you interested in organizing or offering a Beyond the Bike Workshop for our community? We'd love to hear from you. Please email jessie@shoresirens.com to discuss how we can work together.
Coming Soon
Along with our Beyond the Bike series, we have a few other events coming up on the calendar:
